Semi-Current Workstation(s)

Description

Awhile back I received a working 28 inch plasma monitor from work (someone brought it in to refurbish it as an RMA and we apparently never sold that model before, not sure what happened with it) so I decided to redo my workstation at home to make use of it.

I had limited space so I bought a few universal mounting kits. For the 28 inch on the left I had to get an adapter for the 200mm x 100mm mounting bracket on the back so that it'd work with the long, moveable arm I used to mount the monitor on. I was surprised at how stable that arm was (you can see I was nervous about it at the time the pic was taken because I have it propped up with a roll of duct tape!).

To the right of the 28 inch monitor is my old LG 21 inch monitor. That is by far the best monitor I've ever bought, this thing is flawless even at 8 years old, where the plasma has a few stuck pixels (I've fixed them but they come back on occasion).

Both of these monitors are hooked up to my gaming rig that I built in 2008 while in college. It's dated by today's standards but was a beast back when I built it. Only a dual core (but the Wolfsdale beat out the quad cores I was looking at at the time), only 8GB of DDR2 ram, nVidia GTX260, but nearly 2.5 TB of hard drive space now. Can't go wrong.

To the right of the LG is a little dinky 15 inch Dell I picked up on Craigslist way back when for peanuts. It's hooked up to a netbook I also bought on Craigslist for peanuts. I use that for instant messaging pretty much.

To the right of that is a 21 inch Planar monitor I bought at an auction at college for dirt cheap. It also needed a universal mounting unit since its old stand was broken. It's hooked up to the Asus laptop you see on the top of the center desk.

Not pictured (to the left of the 28 inch plasma) is a 32 inch LCD TV I bought on Craigslist for dirt cheap (it had a minor problem with it that I fixed for nothing since it was still under warranty). It is hooked up to a playstation 2 and a game cube via component cables.

Left of that is a 40inch Toshiba HD LCD TV I bought new (one of the few things here that is new lol). That's hooked up to another ps2 via component and a PS3 and X360 via HDMI.

Anyway, took this shot awhile back for a friend and decided to post it since everyone else posts their workstations. Nothing terribly new or fancy here, I prefer to save money and cobble stuff together :)
